Seed heritage

What is the seed heritage?

Garden Organic's Heritage Seed Library (HSL) aims to conserve vegetable varieties that are not widely available.  The Garden Organic’s Heritage Seed Library maintains a collection of over 800 veg varieties in the UK’s only living seed library.

Why?

In a bid to prevent the abuse of seeds and seed trading, European legislation was introduced, making it illegal to commercially market seeds of varieties not on either the UK National List or in the European Common Catalogue.

How to get involved:

adopt a veg, join the Garden Organic, which Canterbury Christ Church University has done and is now a proud member of, which allows us the opportunity to grow some of the precious vegetables here on campus.
